The Council of East and Central Africa Football Association (CECAFA) convened a special meeting in the city of Mahe in Seychelles over the weekend with two more important agendas discussed during the meeting.
CECAFA president Leodegar Tenga said in a statement Tuesday that the meeting was held on September the 2nd and assembled all the 12 member nations of the east and Central Africa football governing body. The statement said that the two main agendas in the meeting were.
1- The organization of a consultative meeting ahead of the upcoming CAF congress.
2- The 2012 CECAFA Tusker challenge cup
“Regarding CECAFA-Tusker cup, I informed the members the situation of the 2012 CECAFA-TUSKER CUP. In view of the controversy surrounding the host of the 2012 event, the special meeting mandated me to convene an Executive committee in the shortest time possible and issue a comprehensive report to clarify the matter once and for all stating the clear position of CECAFA on this matter” president Leodegar Tenga noted in his statement Tuesday.
He however, said that the executive committee meeting unanimously agreed that, in the meantime Uganda shall continue in its preparations to host the TUSKER senior challenge cup which is the most populous event that the regional body annually holds.
